Greensboro is the third-largest city in North Carolina and part of a thriving metropolitan area called the Triad, which encompasses three major cities; Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem. Greensboro is emerging as one of the South's up-and-coming centers for relocating businesses. Greensboro is still collecting accolades for its beauty and livability and in 2004 the Department of Energy awarded Greensboro with entry into the Clean Cities Hall of Fame.

Downtown Greensboro has experienced construction investment in recent years with developments such as NewBridge Bank Park, and residential developments and office construction.
